Introduction
Hello!! My name is McKenna Hagerty and I'm from Orlando, Florida, but I am currently studying at Florida State University in Tallahassee. I'm a freshman with a major in English Education and a minor in Philosophy, and this blog was created to track my progress in my Education Technology class. I throughly enjoy learning not only school-related topics, but also learning various hobbies. I move fast through my passions; over the summer, I created a scrapbook of my senior year, got really into reading, and picked up competitive gaming. Right now I'm mainly focused on school, but I still enjoy drawing and bullet-journaling.
My prior experience in education technology is very limited. The programs I do know I am very proficient in, like Canvas, Group me, Zoom, and Google Classroom. None of my teachers employed any technology in the classroom, other than the occasional Kahoot game. I'm eager to learn what I can about technology and hopefully I will be able to use some of the programs we learn about in my future classroom.
The people in my PLN consists of a couple of my high school teachers, including my senior English teacher and my junior/senior Biology teacher (I had her for two years). My English teacher has been involved in the education system for over 20 years, and has a lot of information about how the school system works. I've actually already contacted her for help in my Intro to Education class! My PLN spaces are currently quite limited because I haven't made any connection to any specific places. A physical place that I considered a PLN space is my high school. The IB program is a very tight nit community and has a lot of teacher involvement; I know if I did return, I would be greeted with open arms. The PLN tools I have right now exist exclusively online. One tool I have that I use quite frequently is YouTube, which has a plethora of different educational videos on many topics. I hope that I can expand my PLN through this education technology class!

Hi McKenna, I also write a bullet journal for my to do list, research ideas, and reminders. However, I don't think mine looks neat and nice like yours. I guess yours is fancier and more organized! As for the PLN, tools are more like resources, knowledge, skills, ideas, strategies, materials, and philosophy you can get from the people in your online and offline PLN. We will explore more technologies including social media to expand your PLN throughout this semester. Later you will draw your expanded PLN diagram for your PLN assignment.
